There are enough free FTP->mail servers and servers for filling of usual (not file-uploading) HTML forms via email, I wrote the first free publicly accessible mail->FTP and HTTP file uploading servers intended for people who have email-only access to the Internet and can't use usual FTP clients and online browsers. If you can (have full-fledged online access), use a FTP client - it's faster and more convenient. If you have problems with proxy or firewall not allowing FTP then perhaps http://net2ftp.com, http://web2ftp.com or http://unlimitedftp.ca will be more convenient for you.
For FTP->mail file downloading and FTP directory listing use other servers - ftpmail, www4mail etc. If you don't know how, download Accessing The Internet By Email (Guide to Offline Internet Access): send "send usenet/news.answers/internet-services/access-via-email" without quotes in the body of a letter to email@example.com or download http://www.faqs.org/faqs/internet-services/access-via-email/ (HTML) or ftp://rtfm.mit.edu/pub/usenet/news.answers/internet-services/access-via-email (plain text). That guide mentions full list of such servers http://www.expita.com/servers.html.
For mail2ftp server manual send "HELP" in body of a letter to
any of four addresses:
mail2ftp @ mail2ftp.heliohost.org
mail2ftp @ lena.kiev.ua
mail2ftp @ treelife.org.ua
mail2ftp @ thebestlinks.com.ru
These mail2ftp servers have also another function - HTTP file uploading: if a web-page contains a form for uploading of files via browser, you can use it via email, for manual send "HELP HTTPPOST".
Server firstname.lastname@example.org is hosted on machine of a non-profit organization helping disabled people 'Association "Tree of Life"' http://treelife.org.ua.
Please don't reproduce this page and don't list email addresses of
mail2ftp servers anywhere because with time they'll become obsolete,
and publishing email addresses causes spam to servers. Instead link
to this page http://lena.kiev.ua/mail2ftp/ and its mirror
Note: another page http://mail2ftp.hypermart.net (with same content as on this page) is not available anymore, please tell webmasters to update links.
